Turkmenstan, Ashgabat, Feb. 23 /corr. Trend E.Hasanov / The construction of the gas pipeline in the territory of Turkmenistan, totaling $176.5 million, will be realized by the Russian MRK-Engineering LLC.

The basic directions of this construction engineering company, which successfully works on the market of Russia and CIS countries for more than 9 years, are construction, engineering and kitting of the objects of petrochemical and natural gas industry, objects of power engineering, official Turkmen source reported.

According to the order by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, the State concern Turkmengaz plans to conclude a contract with MRK-Engineering regarding design and building of the gas pipeline.

The new communication will be lengthened from the fields in central Karakumy to gas compressor station in Yilanly, which is connected with the Middle Asia-Center pipeline, along which the Turkmen gas through the territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan passes to Russian gas monopolist Gazprom JSC. Russia acquires the basic volumes of export gas in Turkmenistan.

It was recently announced that industrial inflow of gas and gas condensate with flow rate of more than 200,000 cubic meters per day was obtained while testing one of exploring drills in the area of South Gutliayak. South Gutliayak is located in Central Karakum, approximately 110 kilometers north-west from Ashgabat. Productive level was revealed by drift miners at the depth of 4,040-4,060 meters.

Opening of new hydrocarbon field greatly extended oil and gas potential of Central Karakum, particularly, near Kopet-Dag lowland. Turkmen specialists are sure that successful launch of exploration operations allow saying that South Gutliyak is rather big gas condensate field.

Data of geophysical explorations, conducted by Turkmen Geology State Corporation in oil and gas region Kirk-Gozli with prospective area, testify this statement.
On the basis of geophysical explorations, chosen point of location of the first exploring drill proved to be productive.
Presently, explorations are going on in the area which will allow specifying geological structure of the area, estimate potential hydrocarbon reserves and determine directions for further exploration.
