S.Korea prepared to participate in oil and gas projects in Turkmenistan: KNOC top official

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Apr. 15 /corr Trend G.Hasanov / President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov voiced his confidence that constructive dialogue with South Korea will continue during President Lee Murn Bak's forthcoming visit to Turkmenistan. He confirmed the considerably boosting dynamic of relations between South Korea and Turkmenistan, Turkmen Dovlet Xaberleri state news service reported.

The statement was made in a meeting between the Turkmen President and Korean National Oil Corporation (KNOC) Board of Directors Chairman Yong-Von Kang. The latter conveyed sincere greetings addressed by President Bak to the Turkmen people.

During the meeting the sides had exchange of opinion on priority directions of cooperation, in particular, in fuel and energy sector, with the consideration of huge potential and opportunities for efficient bilateral interaction.

Kang acquainted Berdimuhamedov with activities and opportunities of KNOC, one of the world giant energy companies. KNOC is prepared to participate in prospective projects initiated by the Turkmen President both under diversification of national fuel and energy complex development and other fields.

Berdimuhamedov stated his support to the plan and voiced Turkmenistan's interests in attracting advanced technologies and technique from South Korea. The Turkmen President specified priorities of socio-economic development of the country, accenting on more important national programs.
