Ashgabat to discuss stateless people's problems

Ashgabat is ready to hold an international forum on stateless people in 2012, the Turkmen government said on Thursday.
"Our country proposes the international community to learn from our experience in giving citizenship to stateless people," the message said. "It is ready to hold the international meeting in Ashgabat in 2012."
Turkmenistan is a permanent member of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree in July. Over 1,500 people got the Turkmen citizenship.
