New Air Code comes into force in Turkmenistan

A new Air Code, approved by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov came into force, an official Turkmen source reported on Tuesday

In this regard, a similar document approved on June 18, 1996, and all subsequent laws by which the changes and additions to it have been made were repealed.

This Code defines legal, economic and organizational principles of aviation to meet the needs of legal individuals and individuals, as well as other activities to use Turkmen airspace and ensure its security, defense and protection of state interests, the safety of aircraft, aviation and environmental safety.

The flights of foreign aircraft in the airspace of Turkmenistan shall be based on: international agreements of Turkmenistan, special permits for irregular (single) flight, issued by the authority of the Unified Air Traffic Management System in Turkmenistan.

The procedure for issuing permits for irregular (single) flight specified in the Regulations on the use of the airspace of Turkmenistan.

Foreign aircraft operators should apply identification marks of aircraft and the purpose of the flight to the authority that issue permissions to perform such operation.

The main objectives of the Code are to provide both the needs of legal individuals and individuals in services of civil aviation and the safety of aircraft and environmental safety.
Provisions of international conventions in this area, were taken into account when drafting the bill.

MPs noted before that the Air Code is intended to facilitate the improvement of the national aviation and create all necessary conditions to improve the efficiency in dealing with challenges

National Aircrafts in addition to domestic airlines operate regular flights to 15 cities in 11 countries: Abu Dhabi, Amritsar, Almaty, Bangkok, Birmingham, Delhi, Dubai, Kiev, London, Moscow, Minsk, Beijing, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Frankfurt.

Turkmenistan Airlines discuss the possibility of opening new international flights from Ashgabat to Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, Samara, Jeddah, Milan.

Turkmenistan Airlines uses liners of the American company Boeing for international and domestic flights.
