President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed a decree appointing Rasul Charyev as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for TV, Radio Broadcasting and Filmmaking, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
Earlier this year National Television and Radio of Turkmenistan increased the number of channels broadcasting from the Yamal-200 satellite (90° east longitude) by adding sport and Ashgabat channels to the list of the Altyn Asyr, Yashlyk, Miras, Turkmenistan and Turkmen Ovazi channels.
According to the government report, President Berdimuhammadov yesterday underlined the necessity of preparing "interesting TV programmes about significant events that are important to the country's lifestyle, achievements, benefits granted to the people and create favourable conditions for the life of the Turkmen citizens."
President Berdimuhammadov stressed the importance of the highly professional and creative approach of national TV channels' staff in the preparation of programmes which should fully meet the spirit of the era.
