The Turkmen government raised an issue of e-government creation in the country at the recent government meeting, the local media reported.

In particular, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said "the informatization of government bodies creates a basic framework for e-government creation."

The President ordered the government to conduct strict control over the progress of affairs in this sphere and indicated a number of necessary measures to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality of administrative activities in general, "Vatan" newspaper writes

Berdymuhamedov urged to expand the use of modern information technology for electronic documents proceedings at the appropriate level.

It is expected that the new scheme will be organized in the fuel and energy complex, chemical and processing industries, construction, transport, telecommunications, medicine, textile industry and agriculture.

According to the project, the electronic document turnover will be introduced in all regions of the country. All these measures should contribute to the operational resolution of management and economic issues, better control of the logistics enterprises and increase the level of public services.

Moreover, the new system will allow controlling seasonal work quickly and accurately and decision making at the level of sectoral ministries, administrations and agribusiness.

Local economists believe that the introduction of e-government will improve the efficiency of enterprise management, create an opportunity for operational control at all stages of the business management.

Currently the Turkmen Government discuss with the UN the project of cooperation in the sphere of reforms and strengthening of public administration, including macroeconomic management and e-government.
