The Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk state concern (Turkmenneftegazstroy) plans to conclude a contract with British Stock Plaza LLP which will be self-funded, an official Turkmen source said today.

The deal was approved under the president's special order. The matter rests in buying 80 four-axle dump cars to ensure uninterrupted construction of facilities by using inert materials.

Stock Plaza LLP last year completed a number of orders to supply several carriages designed for transporting cement and fertilisers, grain, cement and mineral products, as well as self-unloading carriages.

A general plan of developing the railway transport sector for the period up to 2016 was approved in Turkmenistan a year ago to accelerate the development of the industry to achieve its fundamental diversification and job creation.

This programme supports the construction of the country's Atamyrat Imamnazar and Gazachak Shasenem-Dashoguz railways and a Turkmenabat-Farab rail bridge across the Amu Darya for the main line for high-speed trains which runs between the cities of Turkmenbashi in the Balkan region and Turkmenabat in the Lebap region.

Moreover, Turkmenistan is implementing the North-South major railroad construction project with Kazakhstan and Iran. Its implementation will open the way to Central Asia and the Persian Gulf via the shortest, cost-effective route for European and Asian countries.

On the other hand, a similar opportunity will appear to transit the goods from countries in South and South-East Asia from the Indian Ocean to Northern and Eastern Europe through Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
