Turkmenistan, as a hospitable country, pursues an 'open doors' policy towards all interested parties, President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said in his address to officers of the State Migration Service of the country on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its formation, published on Thursday in the national media.
"In carrying out accurate registration of foreign nationals coming to this country, you must be an example of high military professionalism that exemplifies high military and political training and be able to represent Turkmenistan as a hospitable country with an "open doors" policy for all interested parties," Berdymuhamedov said.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that officers of the Migration Service are standing guard over the constitutional order of the state, providing tranquility, unity and social cohesion, which are the basis of justice and democracy."
He also said that, in accordance with the peaceful military doctrine of the independent neutral Turkmenistan, the material-technical base of the military and law enforcement forces are being systematically strengthened, personnel training has been improved.
The President set targets on the further improvement of work methods, including through learning the international experience in this field, preparation of highly qualified, diligent, disciplined personnel with knowledge of foreign languages.
Last year, in accordance with the Constitution and generally recognized norms of international law, the law "On Migration" establishing the procedure for entry to Turkmenistan, stay in its territory and leaving it for citizens of Turkmenistan, foreign citizens, stateless persons, defining the legal relationships in the field of migration and the competence of state bodies of the country, came into force.
