Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on appointing Rejepgeldi Ilamanov Chairman of the Turkmennebit State Concern (Turkmenoil), the Turkmen government said on Saturday.
According to the report, Atadurdy Berdiniyazov became chairman of the Turkmengeology State Corporation.
Turkmenneft State Concern, being one of the largest oil and gas companies, plays a leading role in the economy of the country. It is engaged not only in the production of oil and gas, but also chemicals, drinking and industrial water, bentonite.
During the years of independence, the concern has managed to increase oil production from 5 million tons to 8 million tons a year, gas - up to 11.6 billion cubic meters.
Turkmengeology State Corporation is a production organization filling up the hydrocarbon reserves, underground water, minerals and solid minerals.
