The upcoming forum to be held as part of the Day of German Economy in Turkmenistan on Oct.2 will focus on the expansion of the economic relations between Turkmenistan and Germany, Turkmenistan's Altyn Asir national TV channel reported on Sept.29.

The forum will be attended by the representatives of state and business structures of the two countries.

Around 90 German companies, specialized in the sphere of trade, agriculture, food industry, education, health care and pharmaceuticals, oil and gas sphere, energy, engineering, production of equipment and construction materials, the road transport and the banking sector are expected to participate in the event.

"Our country intends to further strengthen and expand the fruitful contacts with Germany," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a government meeting.

Mannesman, Claas, MAN, Bosch, Bentek, Siemens, Unionmatex GmbH and other companies have gained a reputation in Turkmenistan. Other companies such as Thyssen Krupp, Airbus, Cifal, Knauf, Goetzpartners, Inhar, Textina, Bauer Comp Holding AG, Lemken GmbH have also showed interest in the Turkmen market.

German companies used loans from the leading German banks in the oil and gas sphere for the implementation of large projects in Turkmenistan. They implemented projects for the construction of plants for the production of lubricating oils and paraffin, facilities for purifying diesel fuel from the water at the oil refinery in Turkmenbashi, the construction of a gas compressor station in Korpeje
