Some 1.6 million metric tons are to be collected in 2015, the Turkmen ministry of agriculture said.
Iin particular, some 450 000 metric tons are to be collected in the Akhal velayat (district), 300 000 metric tons in Dashoguz, 350 000 metric tons in Lebap, 380 000 metric tons in Mary, and 120 000 metric tons in Balkan.
The sowing campaign is being completed at the wheat fields of the country with a total area of 860,000 hectares, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said Oct.11.
"At present, over 730,000 hectares were sown, which is more than 85 percent of the total wedge," the article said. "Daily sowing is carried out on 12,200 hectares (1.5 percent)."
A massive sowing of winter wheat is scheduled to be finished in the end of October,2014.
