Turkmenistan sees significant growth in GDP

Turkmenistan's GDP has increased by 10.3 percent in Jan.-Sept. 2014, a message from the country's Ministry of Economy and Development said on Oct.14.

"Significant amount of capital is invested in the country's economy. The volume of investments in various segments of the national economy has grown by 8.3 percent compared to the same period of 2013," the ministry said.

On average, the wages has increased by 10.5 percent in the country during the reporting period, according to the Ministry of Economy and Development.

The ratio of real GDP growth and investments stood at 45.1 percent as of nine months of 2014.

Turkmenistan plays a key role in the region for the volume of natural gas supply. The country's gas is imported by Russia, China and Iran.

The dynamics of Turkmenistan's GDP growth overall meets the expectations of international financial institutions. The International Monetary Fund forecasted that Turkmenistan's economic growth will hit 10.7 percent in 2014.

The country's GDP growth stood at 10.2 percent in 2013, according to the official statistics.
