Turkmenistan commissions Central Asia’s biggest mining plant

Central Asia’s largest industrial complex with a capacity of 1.4 million tons of potash fertilizers per year has been built in the foothills of Koytendag in Garlyk, Turkmenistan, an official source told Trend Mar. 31.

Commissioning of this ore-dressing and processing enterprise was carried out in the presence of presidents of Turkmenistan and Belarus Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Alexander Lukashenko, according to the source.

It is planned to annually produce more than 7 million tons of ore at the enterprise. The complex, worth over $1 billion, is expected to satisfy demands of the Turkmen agriculture and allow exporting to the world market.
