The working group of the joint Uzbek-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border held a meeting in the Dashoguz (Turkmenistan), on Dec. 1-6.
The results of field work conducted in 2017 were discussed at the meeting, said the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed to intensify demarcation work, increase the intensity of meetings and field work next year.
The negotiations on the legal marking of the Uzbek-Turkmen state border were intensified as part of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Turkmenistan on March 6-7.
On Nov. 13, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan exchanged letters on ratification of the Strategic Partnership Treaty between the two countries. The document was signed after the summit talks, on March 6 in Ashgabat.
