President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a sudden inspection of the combat capability of the National Army, writes the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper May 4.

In order to improve the combat training of the personnel of all branches of the Armed Forces, the head of state gave an order to Defense Minister Yaylim Berdiyev to promptly bring the military units of the Armed Forces into a state of combat readiness in the prescribed manner.

The information says that the modern military aircraft and special equipment were presented at the training range.

"The president has tested in practice one of the all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), the power of its engine and maneuverability when loaded into a military transport aircraft," the message says.

The “Neutral Turkmenistan” writes that the aviation of the Air Forces and teams of Air Defense Forces of the country are technically equipped with the most modern weaponry, enemy contact and fire control systems, and modern navigation equipment.

From a command post, the president of Turkmenistan watched the exercises of military units on a large monitor. In the current exercises, the air forces and air defense teams, military formations of land forces, as well as special purpose groups demonstrated their skills in neutralization and destruction of the forces of the conditional enemy, including sabotage groups.

According to the military doctrine adopted by Turkmenistan, the country follows the status of positive neutrality. Turkmenistan borders with Kazakhstan, Iran, Russia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan on land, and with Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran on the Caspian Sea.
