The 14th Forum of CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia kicked off in Ashgabat, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The event, which is attended by more than 200 delegates from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia, is held under the title "CIS common humanitarian space: dialogue in the sphere of culture, science, education".
During the plenary sessions and at the profile sections, representatives of arts, science and education are discussing various aspects of professional interest including new forms of cooperation in education, continuity and innovation in working with young people and establishment of intercultural dialogue.
In connection with the Year of the Book in the CIS, the delegates will pay special attention to the promotion of books and reading. The main panel discussion “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road” will be devoted to Eurasian cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, the report says.
