Turkmenistan participates in 108th session of International Labor Conference

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan Muhammet Sylapov participates in the 108th session of the International Labor Conference of the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan Muhammet Sylapov participates in the 108th session of the International Labor Conference of International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland, Trend reports referring to Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

Meetings with senior representatives of ILO and delegations from other countries are scheduled to discuss development of cooperation within ILO and the consolidated implementation of global initiatives in the field of employment.

In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan, which also includes representatives of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), will take part in the work of the committees on the application of labor norms and the development of standards.

Turkmenistan has been a member of ILO since 1994 and has been working to implement international obligations under ratified and non-ratified ILO conventions through the development of national legislation.

The Turkmen Parliament recently decided to join the ILO governing convention № 144 on tripartite consultations to promote the application of international labor standards, the report says.
