Turkmenistan appoints new ambassadors to Italy, Germany

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed decrees on the appointment of the ambassadors of Turkmenistan to Italy and Germany, Trend reports referring to a source from the government.

Toyly Komekov is appointed the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Italy, and Berdymyrat Redjepov - the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Germany.

Such Italian companies as ENI, Valvitalia, Pietro Fiorentini S.p.a., ProBusiness S.r.l, ETD European Technology Development S.r.l, Geieeurasiamed, Comair S.p.A., Chimec S.p.A., Maschio Gaspardo, Marzoli, Helicopters Italia Srl Unipersonale currently operate in Turkmenistan.

Sixteen enterprises with Italian capital and 22 projects worth about $13 million of investments from Italy have been registered in Turkmenistan. According to the forecasts of the Italian side, the volume of trade between the two countries may exceed 200 million euro in 2019.

Meanwhile, German companies such as Siemens, Daimler, Claas, Rohde & Schwarz, Dresser-Rand, MAN, and Bosch also make a significant contribution to the implementation of long-term projects in Turkmenistan.

In 2016, 167 investment projects and contracts with German capital worth $540 million and about 555 million euro in total were registered in Turkmenistan. Data for recent years have not been published.
