Turkmenistan eyes upgrading infrastructure of fuel-energy complex

Turkmenistan plans to improve the infrastructure of the country's fuel-energy complex (FEC), President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said during a meeting with Director of Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited Igor Burkinsky, Trend reports citing TURKMENPORTAL.

Berdimuhamedov stressed that having vast volumes of hydrocarbon reserves, the country seeks to develop cooperation with large foreign companies.

According to him, the priority areas are improvement of the mining and processing infrastructure of the fuel-energy complex based on the active introduction of innovative technologies, building up of the export potential of this area, and expansion of the geography of energy supplies to world markets.

The parties discussed the priority areas of bilateral cooperation within the framework of specialized projects and programs of the oil and gas sector, which continue their work in the territory of Turkmenistan.

In this regard, the issue of the Goturdepe field, where the Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited company operates, was also raised.
