Turkmenistan to lease land plots to Chinese Petroleum Corporation for building water facilities

Turkmenistan will lease land plots to the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation "International Ltd" for construction and installation work, Trend reports on Oct.2 via the State News Agency of the country.

In accordance with the Code of Turkmenistan "On land" and the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Muhammedov "On regulation of land relations in Turkmenistan" No. 14668 dated March 18, 2016, the president signed an order instructing to lease a land plot with a total area of ​​26.55 hectares for the construction of a water supply system for onshore gas field facilities in the western section of sector B of the Bagtyyarlyk contract area in the Lebap province.

The area includes 18 hectares for the construction of a water intake facility near the Amu Darya river in the Farab district of the Lebap province to the Chinese "International Ltd".

At the moment, the corporation operates in Turkmenistan in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On hydrocarbon resources" and a production sharing agreement on the Bagtyýarlyk contract territory.

The mentioned land plot with a total area of ​​26.55 hectares will be leased for the period of validity of the production sharing agreement, of which a plot of 8.55 hectares - for laying a water supply system and adjacent roads for the period of completion of construction and installation work.

The document also ordered the Land Resources Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, together with the administration of the Lebap province, to draw up documents on the provision of a land plot in accordance with the established procedure.
