BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover increased by 42.5 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan news agency.
This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Mukhammetguly Mukhammedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, the growth of this indicator was caused by Turkmenistan's foreign economic policy based on the principles of mutual benefit and broad international cooperation.
Furthermore, during the reporting period, production in Turkmenistan increased by 11.2 percent compared to January - April 2021, and retail trade turnover has grown by 10.5 percent.
The meeting summed up the results of the government's work in the economic sphere for 4 months of 2022, assessed the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers, identified priority tasks for the social and economic development of Turkmenistan, and considered a number of other issues.
