BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Russia and Turkmenistan are actively cooperating in the implementation of many projects in the energy sector, a source in the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation told Trend.
"Russian companies are interested in establishing cooperation with the Turkmen side in the field of electricity production, which is a promising direction and which includes the construction of new and reconstruction of existing thermal power plants, substations and transmission lines," said the source.
At the same time, Russia is interested in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in the fields of hydropower and renewable energy sources.
"The issue of expanding cooperation with Turkmen customers on modernization, reconstruction, as well as the construction of new gas turbine power plants is being actively worked out," said the source.
Furthermore, according to the ministry, Russia and Turkmenistan are working on the implementation of projects in such areas as energy, industry, transport, logistics, trade, mechanical engineering, agriculture, banking, land cadastre, tax administration, as well as in other promising areas of interest to the two countries.
