BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree according to which the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the decree, the contract will be concluded for the supply of equipment, software and licenses, including transportation, installation, commissioning and technical support within the framework of the fixed telephone network expansion project in the city of Ashgabat and the regions of the country.
Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan is implementing a project providing for the construction of new digital telephone exchanges, the introduction of Gigabit PON technology and the modernization of the existing telephone network, which makes it possible to provide a wide range of modern services, including high-speed Internet, IP television.
Signing the document, the head of state stressed that at the moment in the country, it is necessary to coordinate all processes in the field of communications at a high level, as well as optimally use the existing potential.
