BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. Turkmenistan, in accordance with the state program of the President, will allocate $278.9 billion for the realization of production potential and the development of the social sphere in the period from 2022 through 2028, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

This was stated by the chairman of the "Halk Maslahaty" of Turkmenistan (a separate body of representative power, which is located along with the parliament) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his speech at a joint session of the chambers of the Turkmen parliament.

According to him, the main goals of the socioeconomic development of Turkmenistan are improving employment, achieving consistent development of industries and social services, increasing the pace of industrialization, introducing digital technologies, full-scale use of the country's geopolitical and geo-economic opportunities, maintaining food security, ensuring sustainable dynamics of the digital economy, innovative development of industry, creating conditions for increasing the share of the private sector in the national economy, ensuring environmental well-being and the development of a "green" economy.

Despite the ambiguous situation in the global economy, Turkmenistan continues to demonstrate stable economic indicators. Thus, the growth of the gross domestic product remains at the level of more than 6 percent.
