BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 3. The heads of the EAEU governments at the meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council agreed to expand food supplies along the International North–South Transport Corridor to Turkmenistan, Iran, the UAE and India, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, the heads of government of the EAEU countries supported the proposal of the Eurasian Economic Commission to include in the joint integration project "Eurasian Agroexpress" transportation carried out along the International North-South Transport Corridor in the direction of Turkmenistan, Iran, the UAE, and India

The corresponding order of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was adopted during a meeting held on February 2 through 3 in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

Meanwhile, the Eurasian Agroexpress project is accelerated container rail and multimodal deliveries of agricultural products and food from the EAEU member states to domestic and foreign markets. The project has been launched since February 25, 2022, and a total of 525,500 tons of chicken and beef meat, milk powder, fat-and-oil, fruit and vegetable, and leguminous products were transported last year.
