BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev met with Chairman of the board of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) Green Finance Centre Aidar Kazybayev, who arrived in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) on a working visit, Trend reports citing the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the information, the visit of the AIFC delegation to Ashgabat was organized on the initiative of the Kazakh side. The priority goal of the Center's activities is the development of a balanced capital market and assistance to municipalities and other government agencies in attracting extra-budgetary funds to sustainable development projects.

During the meeting held in the building of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed issues of establishing bilateral cooperation in the field of green finance, including the exchange of specialists, as well as the possibility of working out the issue of issuing special certificates for compliance of Arkadag city (Turkmenistan) with the criteria of "green city" and "smart city".

Furthermore, the parties discussed issues related to the greening of the coast and the development of ecotourism in the Aral Sea area by attracting private investment, as well as the development of green hydrocarbons.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working contacts to identify specific promising projects and forms of cooperation.

The objectives of the Astana International Financial Center are to assist in attracting investments into the country's economy by creating an attractive environment for investment in financial services, developing the securities market of Kazakhstan, ensuring its integration with international capital markets.
