BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Entrepreneurs from Switzerland and UAE purchased low-sulfur fuel oil during trading on February 7 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

Businessmen from Switzerland and UAE purchased 80,000 tons of low-sulfur fuel oil on the exchange at a price of $446.75 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $35.7 million.

At the same time, according to the exchange, on the same day, entrepreneurs from UAE purchased 22 tons of cotton yarn on the exchange for a total of 990,000 Turkmen manats ($282,500).

Turkmenistan ranks among the world's leading countries in terms of oil and gas reserves. The country pays great attention to the construction of oil and gas processing plants, as well as the export of energy resources to world markets.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
