BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Iran is interested in supplying Turkmenistan with competitive equipment for the oil industry, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Engineering, Research and Technology of Iran Vahid Reza Zeidifard during a meeting of representatives of the oil and gas sector of Iran with representatives of Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz, Turkmennebit, and Turkmenhimiya state concern on the sidelines of the exhibition of Iranian goods in the capital of Turkmenistan Ashgabat.
He said that more than 70 percent of the technologies that Iran uses in its oil and gas sector are produced domestically, so the country can become a supplier of equipment for its own production to Turkmenistan.
Furthermore, Vahid Reza Zeidifard added that Iran is ready to build oil refineries in Turkmenistan and jointly develop oil and gas fields.
The Deputy Minister invited Turkmen representatives of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan to visit Iran to get acquainted with the potential of the country's oil industry.
Following the meetings, representatives of oil and gas institutions agreed that the Turkmen side would provide their colleagues with lists of necessary equipment through diplomatic channels.
Meanwhile, the exhibition of Iranian manufacturers' products in Turkmenistan has become another step in the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. More than 100 Iranian companies of various profiles were represented at the exhibition, from manufacturers of cars and equipment to household goods.
