BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Turkmenistan has purchased the first Airbus A330-200 cargo aircraft of the P2F modification, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

The aircraft was delivered under a contract signed in January 2021 between the French company Airbus S.A.S and the Turkmenhowayollary Agency (Turkmen Airlines).

The Airbus A330-200 P2F aircraft is optimized for transporting a cargo of various configurations over long distances. The weight of the transported cargo can reach 61 tons. It is not difficult to deliver it by such planes to a distance of 7,700 kilometers, and the cost of cargo delivery per ton is significantly reduced.

At the moment, the Turkmenistan Airlines fleet consists of over 30 aircraft manufactured by Boeing, Bombardier, British Aerospace, and Ilyushin Design Bureau.

Turkmenistan Airlines will become the first airline in Central Asia to have Airbus A330-200 P2F family aircraft in its fleet. The delivery is carried out within the framework of the "National Program for the Development of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan for 2013-2030".
