Turkmenistan emphasizes interest in foreign investments for its gas pipeline projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. The construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline continues at an accelerated pace, and there are great prospects for cooperation for representatives of foreign business here, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

The President stated this in his address to the participants of the forum on attracting foreign investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, which will last from April 26 through 27, 2023 in Dubai (UAE).

According to him, the implementation of this ambitious project will have a significant positive impact on the economy of all countries in the region.

Berdimuhammedov noted that Turkmenistan, which occupies one of the leading positions in the global ranking of hydrocarbon reserves, primarily seeks to orient its resource potential in the interests of the Turkmen people and other members of the world community, as well as to maintain economic stability in the region.

Furthermore, the President stressed that another most ambitious project is the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline for the export of Turkmen natural gas to Europe, and also added that along with traditional transportation methods, great attention is paid to the processing industry as a factor of supply diversification, as evidenced by the targeted projects implemented in Turkmenistan in recent years, including the construction of specialized capacities.

Turkmenistan ranks among the world's leading countries in terms of oil and gas reserves. At the same time, the country pays great attention to the creation of oil and gas processing plants, as well as the export of energy resources to world markets.
