BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan held trades in foreign currency last week, the total amount of transactions of which amounted to approximately $18.3 million, Trend reports.
According to the exchange, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel and carbamide produced by the Turkmenhimiya and Turkmennebit state concerns were purchased by entrepreneurs from the UAE, Türkiye, Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs from China, Türkiye, UAE, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan purchased cotton yarn, denim and cotton harsh fabric, smooth-dyed and jacquard terry products for foreign currency.
Turkmen businessmen purchased oil road bitumen for the domestic market for a total amount of 150 million Turkmen manats ($42.9 million).
A total of 45 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.
During the previous reporting period, the amount of currency transactions on exchange of Turkmenistan exceeded $137 million.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
