Turkmenistan triples its trade volume with France

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 7. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and France reached over 33.63 million euros during the period from January through May 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.

These figures indicate an increase of 3.3 times compared to the turnover in the first five months of the previous year, which amounted to 10.04 million euros.

Turkmenistan's exports to France from January through May 2023 amounted to almost 4.07 million euros, showing an increase of 2.8 times compared to the same months of 2022, when it amounted to 1.41 million euros.

At the same time, Turkmenistan increased its imports from France 3.4 times in the first five months of 2023 compared to the same period of 2022 (8.63 million euros), resulting in imports amounting to 29.56 million euros.

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and France in 2022 amounted to 40.67 million euros, which is 6.75 percent more than in 2021 (38.1 million euros).

The trade exchange between Turkmenistan and the EU countries from January through May 2023 amounted to over 494.66 million euros, which is 27.3 percent more than the same period last year (406.3 million euros).
