ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 22. The Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan discussed the possibilities of establishing ties and creating a specialized platform for mutual business promotion, Trend reports.
These issues were discussed between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov and the President of Eurochambres Vladimír Dlouhý.
The meeting, which was held in Brussels, where the headquarters of Eurochambres is located, was also attended by the chief executive officer of this organization, Ben Butters.
The Ambassador informed the parties in detail about the numerous opportunities for doing European business in Turkmenistan and highlighted potential areas of cooperation between Eurochambres and the Turkmenistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is one of the key facilitators of the interests of the country's broad business community.
In turn, Vladimír Dlouhý presented an overview of the activities of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, noting that the organization maintains relations not only with EU member states, but also with other states, and also supported the proposal to establish cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
In this context, the prospects of holding joint events and forums that will attract the attention of the business communities of both sides and will contribute to the establishment of a specialized platform for further commercial cooperation were considered.
Meanwhile, Eurochambres is an extensive network comprising more than 20 million businesses and 1,700 regional and local chambers across Europe. More than 93 percent of these enterprises are small and medium-sized, which together employ more than 120 million people.
