ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 11. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree aimed at the construction of buildings in the new administrative center of the Ahal region of the country, the city of Arkadag, Trend reports.
According to this resolution, the State Committee for Construction of the city of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan is allowed to conclude contracts with local construction companies for the design and construction of facilities and structures in the city of Arkadag with the improvement of adjacent territories.
The document was signed 'in order to successfully solve the tasks outlined in the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028, socio-economic development of the regions', further improvement of the standard of living of the people, as well as the implementation of the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan No. 473 dated March 7, 2023 'On the implementation of the second stage of the construction of the city of Arkadag'.
The decree prescribes to begin construction work in October 2023 and to hand over facilities and structures with full readiness for operation in September 2026.
Meanwhile, the construction sector in Turkmenistan is an important component of the country's economy, with a focus on infrastructure projects and urban development.
