ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 13. The Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, plans to sow 10,200 hectares of rice this year, Trend reports.

As a result, the farmers in Turkmenistan have strategically outlined their intentions to cultivate rice, with the objective of yielding a substantial harvest amounting to 47,400 tons from the cultivated land.

Turkmenistan's farmers planted the same area of land last year from which about 47,400 tons of rice were harvested this season.

In order to improve rice varieties, some of its species imported from Russia underwent tests last year.

The development of agriculture in Turkmenistan is taking place with high dynamics and is one of the key sectors of the country's economy.

Various types of agricultural crops are actively grown on the territory of Turkmenistan, including wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder plants, vegetables, and melons, as well as fruit and berry crops.
