ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 16. The overall trade worth between Turkmenistan and Georgia from January through August this year amounted to $49.9 million, Trend reports.
According to the data of the National Statistical Committee of Georgia, this represents an almost threefold reduction compared to the trade volume in the initial eight months of the preceding year, which amounted to $147.5 million.
During this period, Turkmenistan's exports to Georgia reached $44.1 million, which reflects a significant three-fold decrease compared to the corresponding period of 2022, when exports were estimated at $135.1 million.
At the same time, from January through August of this year, Turkmenistan imported goods from Georgia in the amount of $5.7 million, which is 2.1 times less compared to the same period last year, when imports were estimated at $12.3 million.
Meanwhile, in the preceding year, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia reached a total of $186.4 million.
