Turkmenistan boosts raw material trade on its exchange

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 23. The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan held auctions last week, at which it concluded contracts with foreign businessmen totaling $15.7 million, Trend reports.

According to the exchange, this is about 30.8 percent more than in the previous reporting period, when the cost of raw materials sold was $12 million.

Over the past week, businessmen from the UAE, Ireland, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Serbia purchased urea grade "B" produced at the enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern, liquefied gas and polypropylene manufactured by the Turkmennebit State Concern, as well as medical products manufactured at the enterprises of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's businessmen purchased polypropylene, handmade carpets, and textile products for the domestic market for a total of 54.9 million Turkmen manat ($15.7 million).

A total of 33 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.
