ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 20. Turkmenistan's Turkmenenergo State Electric Power Corporation has signed an agreement with Iranian companies on financing the Turkmen part of the Mary (Turkmenistan) - Mashhad (Iran) power transmission line, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the agreement was signed with the Iranian 'Tanawir' and 'Sanergy Pishro Export and Energy Promotion' companies.

The document was signed at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission for Economic Cooperation in Ashgabat.

Furthermore, during the meeting, the parties noted the constant efforts to further develop relations between the two countries in the energy sector.

Meanwhile, Iran and Turkmenistan signed two cooperation documents worth about $900 million in Ashgabat on November 18, 2023.

The documents involve the construction of a road by Iran in Turkmenistan and the increase of electricity exchange and supply between the two countries.
