ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 28. Farmers of the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, have harvested more than 8,560 tons of carrots this year, Trend reports.
Farmers in the region harvested this crop from a total area of 475 hectares, exceeding the plan.
The main major suppliers of carrots in the region were farmers from the Charjew district, who collected 5310 tons of carrots, Sayat - 2340 tons and Halach - 540 tons, who delivered the crop to the state warehouse.
Furthermore, a sufficient amount of the harvested crop goes to stores, and the rest goes to special cold storage warehouses of the 'Miwe' agro-industrial union of the Lebap region.
Meanwhile, the development of Turkmenistan's agricultural sector is an important strategic factor for the country's economic growth.
