ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 9. Turkmenistan imported chemical industry goods from France in the amount of 18.77 million euros in the first eight months of this year, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
During the reporting period, these data increased 8.6 times compared to the figures from January through August of the previous year (2.16 million euros).
According to Eurostat, in August this year Turkmenistan imported chemical industry products from France in the amount of 644388 euros, which is 2.2 times less than in July 2023 (1.44 million euros).
At the same time, France increased exports to Turkmenistan 2.9 times in the first eight months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 (14.55 million euros), resulting in imports of 42.56 million euros.
Meanwhile, from January through August 2023, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and France exceeded 48.3 million euros, which is 2.7 times more than in the corresponding period of the previous year, when it amounted to 18 million euros.
