ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 26. Industrial enterprises of the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, manufactured products worth more than 21.1 billion Turkmen manat ($6.04 billion) from January through November this year, Trend reports.
During the reporting period, enterprises achieved high growth rates in the manufacturing of industrial products, electricity and food compared to the first eleven months of the previous year.
At the same time, the share of state-owned enterprises in the region in manufacturing of products amounted to more than 6.03 billion Turkmen manat ($1.73 billion).
Furthermore, the main part of the cost of manufactured products was formed at the expense of enterprises in the oil and gas industry.
Industry plays a vital role in the economy of Turkmenistan, and in recent years there has been tremendous growth in this sector. The Government of Turkmenistan is actively implementing a program aimed at stimulating investment in industry and ensuring a favorable economic climate.
