ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 3. Turkmenistan plans to plant about 130,000 hectares of land in the Lebap region with cotton this year, Trend reports.
According to an official source, work is currently underway in the region to collect washing water and drain land at cotton planting sites.
Furthermore, more than 19,000 tons of phosphorus fertilizers have already been applied to more than 95,000 hectares of land in the region, which is about 200 kilograms per hectare.
So the farms that will plant cotton this season are fully provided with the necessary phosphorus fertilizers.
Meanwhile, the agricultural sector in Turkmenistan receives focused government support, providing farmers, private entrepreneurs, and other agricultural producers access to preferential bank loans.
Farmers benefit from subsidized prices on mineral fertilizers, high-quality seeds, and chemical plant protection products.
