ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 22. Flour mills located in the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan produced 130,000 tons of flour over the past year, Trend reports.
According to official data, during the specified period, the growth rate of production of flour mills in the region in comparison with 2022 amounted to 0.6 percent.
Furthermore, last year, the bakeries in the region also produced about 193,400 tons of bread and bakery products, exceeding the figure for 2022.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan prioritizes agricultural expansion and food security due to its enormous natural resources and favorable environment.
Turkmenistan's government has paid special attention to the food sector in recent years, aiming to reduce the country's reliance on imports and secure a sustainable supply of food for the population.
