BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. EU countries imported mineral products from Turkmenistan in January 2024, totaling 71.9 million euros, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
According to Eurostat, in the specified month, EU countries imports of mineral products from Turkmenistan are more than 32 times higher than in the same month last year, which amounted to almost 2.2 million euros.
At the same time, the total volume of EU imports from Turkmenistan in January 2024 amounted to 77.73 million euros, where mineral products account for 92.5 percent.
In general, over the past year, EU countries imported mineral products from Turkmenistan totaling about 1.05 billion euros, which is six times more than imports in 2022, when they amounted to 169.43 million euros.
Meanwhile, in the first month of this year, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries amounted to more than 118.44 million euros, which is almost 89 percent more than in the same month of 2023, when it amounted to 62.74 million euros.
