Turkmenistan's state-owned enterprises ramp up production of food products

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 9. Turkmenistan's state-owned enterprises have increased production of food products from January through March this year, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhallyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, during the specified period, the growth rate of production volumes by the State Association of the Food Industry reached 12.7 percent, the State Association of the Livestock and Poultry Industry – 32 percent, and the Turkmen Atlary State Association – 1.5 percent.

Furthermore, he added that in the first quarter of this year, the State Committee of Water Management increased the production growth rate by 37.1 percent, the Turkmenpagta State Concern – 2.1 percent, the Turkmen Galla Onumleri State Association – 96.5 percent, and the Turkmenobahyzmat State Association - 10.7 percent.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has prioritized the development of its agro-industrial sector, focusing on modernizing farming practices, boosting efficiency, and ensuring food sovereignty.

Significant investments have been made in infrastructure, such as irrigation systems and agricultural equipment. The integration of advanced farming methods and technologies has led to a notable increase in agricultural yield.
