ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 11. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has published inflation forecasts in Turkmenistan for 2024 and 2025, as well as data for 2022 and 2023, Trend reports.
According to the forecast, inflation in Turkmenistan in 2024 will be 8 percent, which corresponds to the latest bank forecast.
At the same time, the bank's forecast shows that Turkmenistan's inflation will remain stable in 2025, amounting to 8 percent.
"Preliminary estimates imply that average annual inflation will reduce from 11.2 percent in 2022 to 5.9 percent in 2023 as global commodity prices moderate. tighter credit policy, and the continuation of pricing and foreign exchange controls," the bank notes.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is making concerted efforts to lower
inflation by executing a comprehensive economic stabilization
strategy and strengthening the national currency.
As part of this plan, the government is actively developing ways to
control the money supply, regulate pricing for essential goods and
services, and improve taxation.
