ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 4. Farmers in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan are preparing to harvest wheat on a total area of 130,000 hectares of land, Trend reports.
According to an official source, preparations for grain harvesting have now been completed in all districts of the region, and all 35 grain receiving points are fully ready to receive and store the harvest.
At the same time, Lebapobahyzmat production association and regional production enterprises technicians prepared more than 300 high-performance, powerful combine harvesters from leading world companies for harvest season.
In total, 1,520 vehicles and other equipment will be used to transport the wheat harvest from the fields to grain collection points.
Meanwhile, grain harvesting begins in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary regions of Turkmenistan on June 7, and in the Balkan and Dashoguz regions on June 14.
The country sowed winter wheat last year on an area of about 690,000 hectares of land, planning to harvest about 1.4 million tons of products this year.
