ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 24. Pakistan has begun negotiations with Turkmenistan on the import of 200,000 tons of carbamide under a direct intergovernmental agreement to meet the growing domestic demand for fertilizers, Trend reports.

According to an official source, the move is part of Pakistan's broader strategy to ensure a stable supply of carbamide, which is essential for the country's agricultural sector.

The aim of the negotiations is to ensure a stable flow of this important raw material from Turkmenistan.

The visit of the delegation was discussed during a meeting between the Federal Minister for Industries and Production of Pakistan, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov at which they discussed strategies to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants serve as the primary producers of carbamide in Turkmenistan.

Central Asia's largest facility, the Garabogazkarbamid plant, is engineered to produce an annual output of 1.15 million tons of fertilizer.
