(Turkmenistan.ru) - Turkmen president Saparmurat Niyazov received in his residence Mr Minoru Murofushi, co-chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese economic cooperation commission and honorary advisor to well-known Japanese Itochu Corporation, reports Trend.
During length talks, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, first of all in the sphere of economy. Minoru Murofushi emphasized that Japan attaches particular importance to the development of business partnership with Turkmenistan.
Having noted that the efficiency of bilateral relations was among the top priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, the Turkmen leader quoted China as an example of successful partnership that got a powerful boost by recent accords on Turkmen natural gas exports to China and on the construction of a new gas pipeline. The head of state briefed his guests on the new concept of development of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan up to 2030 and export routes for Turkmen energy carriers to the world markets, including Trans Afghan and Caspian gas pipelines.
Then, the sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas field. They noted that the current practice of the long-term fruitful dialog creates the ground for greater prospects of further cooperation. Having underlined that Turkmenistan favours the partnership based on mutual benefit and national interests, Saparmurat Niyazov invited his guests to consider the possibility of involvement in a number of projects concerning the extraction and processing of raw hydrocarbon raw materials.
On his part, Minoru Murofushi expressed satisfaction with the harmonic development of Turkmenistan's partnership with Japanese companies noting the successful cooperation with Itochu, Komatsu and many other world-known producers. As Minoru Murofushi pointed out, Japanese firms are ready to take the most active part in implementing ambitious projects in Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen-Japanese economic cooperation committee has a significant role to play in this regard. The committee's five sessions has identified major areas of mutually beneficial partnership. Minoru Murofushi informed the President of Turkmenistan about progress in implementation of another contract with Komatsu and said that it would meet all obligations on supplying highly productive machinery in time.
