Tashkent Aviation Station Likely to Enter Joint Air Corporation

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 2 September / Trend corr. T.Zhukov / Terms of the Tashkent aviation station's merger with the joint air-construction corporation (JAC) will be discussed during the Russian Premier Vladimir Putin's ongoing visit to Uzbekistan, Trend correspondent reported from Tashkent.

A Russian and Uzbek intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in air-construction field was signed in Febraury 2008, the plant told Trend . In accordance with this intergovernmental agreement, Chkalova Tashkent Aviation Production Unity (CTAPU) will be included in the Russian JAC. "Perhaps, the JAC will possess control share package of the CTAPU," the plant said. "It has become effective in Russia, whilst Uzbekistan has not yet finished its procedures. Probably, exact terms of the plant's entrance to the JAC will be fixed during the visit," the plant said.

Aleksey Fedorov, the head of the JAC arrived in Tashkent within Russian delegation headed by the Russian Premier Putin.

The CTAPU was established at the base of the aviation station evacuated to Uzbekistan in 1941 from Khimki city near to Moscow. The enterprise turned into a stock company in May 1996. At present the plant produces Il-76 transport models and Il-114 passenger models, as well as wings for An-70 planes.

In November 2007, the CTAPU joint stock company was released from the VAT payment and excise tax on import of components and the necessary things for plane production by the end of 2009 at President Islam Kerimov's special instruction. Moreover, the enterprise was released from customs payments to import component parts for repair of planes through foreign contractors. Currently, part of the Russian aviation details and units exceed 85% in total volume of production.
